Anastasia Dukhanina

Anastasia Dukhanina (St Petersburg (Leningrad) 1983) schrijft: My mother discovered my interest in visual arts at a very young age.
At the age of seven ,I started attending art school for children. By the time
I was a teenager, I was already certain that my only path was to be an
artist.
After school , I studied for three years at art school with wonderful
teachers. One of them, my painting teacher Aleksandra
Zirmunskaja, instilled in me a love for painting, and I chose a painting
program at the Repin Academy of Arts, where I studied for 6 years.
Since graduating, I have always worked as an artist, painting my personal subjects in my own style. My work reflects my environment intertwined with my thoughts and feelings. Throughout my life, I have experienced a different way of living and a different perspective on things. Since becoming a mother, my little world has shifted closer to home, closer to everyday life, to the beauty of simple things. I’ve discovered why every artist changes throughout their life. It seems simple and obvious, but true understanding only comes with experience.
My children have shown me another magnificent world. I’ve begun to see
and find more beauty in an apple, a cup, a flower, a kitchen table, a
bicycle. Now, it’s very easy for me to find a subject for painting;
everything I need is right beside me.
